Girl, 13, killed in four-vehicle crash, is identified

A 13-year-old girl killed in a four-vehicle crash in the northeast valley Monday night has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Aziah Lopez died of blunt force motor vehicle trauma and the manner of her death was ruled an accident by the coroner.

The crash occurred at about 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of East Craig Road and North Lamb Boulevard, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.

Lopez was a passenger in a Dodge Neon driven by a 17-year-old female and occupied by another 17-year-old woman. The Neon was turning left from the southbound lanes of Lamb Boulevard onto Craig Road at the time of the crash, Metro said.

The Neon crossed in front of a Dodge Ram traveling north. The Ram hit the Neon on the right side, forcing both vehicles to travel northeast and each hit another car, police said.

The driver and 17-year-old passenger were taken to University Medical Center. The driver sustained moderate injuries and the passenger had serious injuries, the statement said.

This is the 24th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2016.
