Woman killed in head-on crash near Lake Las Vegas

A 55-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash in Henderson Friday morning.

The woman was driving west on Lake Mead Parkway just east of Lake Las Vegas Parkway when she veered into the eastbound lane and hit a Toyota Prius head-on about 6:20 a.m., Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul said.

The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she died from her injuries, Paul said. The 69-year-old driver of the Prius was expected to survive.

No other injuries were reported.
