Man gets prison for assault in fatal fight outside Arizona bar

A 14-year prison sentence was ordered Friday for a man involved in a deadly fight outside a bar in Bullhead City, Ariz.

Mohave County Superior Court Judge Steve Conn imposed one year less than the maximum punishment for the aggravated assault conviction of Castillo, 30. The jury acquitted the Mohave Valley man of second-degree murder and manslaughter counts in the October death of Richard Huffines, 24, of Bullhead City. Castillo maintained he acted in self-defense. Prosecutor Greg McPhillips argued that Castillo swung first, dropping Huffines with a punch before he kicked him in the head after he fell to the pavement.
