Judge won’t lower bail for Pennsylvania woman accused of ‘gifting’ teen

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — A Pennsylvania woman charged with “gifting” her underage daughter to a man with whom the teenager has two children will remain locked up for now.

The woman is jailed on $1 million bail after a Bucks County judge refused her lawyers’ request for a bail reduction Friday. The judge set a July 14 bail hearing.

She and her husband are charged with child endangerment after police found a dozen girls living with Lee Kaplan of Feasterville.

Her husband told police he and his wife “gave” their 14-year-old daughter to Kaplan after he helped them out financially. Kaplan faces sexual assault charges.

The woman’ lawyers have asked the public to withhold judgment. The other two defendants don’t have lawyers yet.
