Air quality advisory issued for holiday weekend

The Clark County Department of Air Quality has issued an advisory for elevated smoke and ozone levels for the July 4 weekend.

Because of expected smoke from fireworks during the holiday weekend, the advisory is in place for Friday through Saturday, the department said.

Those with respiratory problems are susceptible to aggravated symptoms when unhealthy levels of pollution are present. The Department of Air Quality is advising that pollution could reach those levels, and the department will continue to monitor the air.
