Woman with dementia returns home after reported missing

UPDATE: North Las Vegas police said Mattie Ivy returned home and is safe.


Police are looking for a 72-year-old woman who went missing from her North Las Vegas home Sunday morning.

Mattie Ivy left her home in the 2600 block of Lake Mead Boulevard, near Simmons Street, for a morning walk about 10:20 a.m.

She never returned to the house she shares with her sister and has not been seen since.

Ivy has been diagnosed with dementia and needs diabetes medication.

Ivy is 5’2” and 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a burgundy shirt, grey capri pants, brown shoes and a blue cord necklace with a key on it. She does not have her medications or any identification on her.

If anyone locates Ivy, they should notify the North Las Vegas Police Department immediately at 633-9111.
