Casino becomes star intersection

Guess who wandered through the set at 6 a.m. during Thursday's shoot of "What Happens in Vegas..." at Planet Hollywood Resort?

As Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher were setting up for a slot machine scene, newlywed night owls Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon walked through, unaware they were in the middle of filming.

Minutes earlier, Anderson and Salomon, who got married Oct. 6 at The Mirage, were spotted playing craps at a nearby table.

Cameron and Kutcher are in town for about a week of shooting the big-screen romantic comedy. Several other locations are involved.

Also in the movie: "Saturday Night Live" cast member Jason Sudeikis, who appeared with "Second City" at the Flamingo before his call-up, and Queen Latifah, who has what is being called a mysterious cameo.

Also on the set, Rob Corddry and Lake Bell.

O'HURLEY OUT UNTIL JANUARY

John O'Hurley is stretching his hiatus from "Monty Python's Spamalot" at Wynn Las Vegas to four months.

He left the show and his role of King Arthur a month ago to promote his new book, "Before Your Dog Can Eat Your Homework, First You Have To Do It -- Life Lessons from a Wise Old Dog to a Young Boy."

The book will be released on Tuesday as a follow-up to O'Hurley's 2006 New York Times best-seller, "It's Okay to Miss the Bed on the First Jump."

O'Hurley will be co-hosting the Halloween-themed "Family Feud" next week with infant son William. They will be wearing coordinating costumes each day. The show airs on Channel 6 at 11 a.m.

Randal Keith has assumed the role of King Arthur. Keith is best known for his portrayal of Jean Valjean in the long running musical "Les Miserables" on Broadway.

THE SCENE AND HEARD

The dreambeat continues for Kid Rock: He wants his rock back from Anderson. On Thursday's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," he was asked whether he had bought Anderson and Salomon a wedding gift. Rock laughed and said, "No. I'm still waiting to get my ring back!" I asked Anderson's Los Angeles-based publicist, Cindy Guagenti, whether that will happen. "She has never answered that question," Guagenti said. The canary-yellow sparkler reportedly cost between $500,000 and $750,000. ...
