Choreographer Mandy Moore suggests another dose of reality in 2020

Since Donald Trump went from reality TV to presidential candidate, who would be a better celebrity to run for the job in 2020?

Let’s ask choreographer Mandy Moore from “Dancing With the Stars,” “So You Think You Can Dance” and films, because she has worked hand in hand with a panoply of TV and movie stars.

“That’s a really good question,” she said and didn’t pause long before she arrived at her answer:

“I love me some Von Miller. Von Miller for president.”

Moore worked with the Denver Broncos linebacker on “Dancing With the Stars.”

“I kept telling him, ‘Von Miller is my spirit animal.’ The guy’s just so cool, so nice, works hard, has a great time,” Moore said.

Moore also likes Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone for president. She just choreographed them in a new dance-musical movie called “La La Land” coming out Dec. 2.

“He’s a good guy,” she volunteered. “Emma Stone would be a great president.”

Please be cognizant Moore was saying all this as fun parlor game. She’s not literally advocating more celebrities run for the White House.

“I’m not a political person,” she said.

“But there should be someone in office who has an understanding of art and creativity. There should be somebody who has a sense of humor, somebody that has a universal truth of acceptance, and a general zest for life. I feel like they (Gosling and Stone) have those things.”

She joked how Trump’s ascension could pave the way for a new party:

“There’s a huge (pool of reality stars). It won’t even be the Republicans and the Democrats. It’s gonna be the Republicans, the Democrats, and the reality stars.”

Ah, yes, the end of the Republic (just kidding, I hope).

Moore’s latest gig: She’s revamping the finale scene in topless revue “Fantasy” at Luxor.

Moore changed “Fantasy’s” opening number last year. Her goal is to make topless women feel confident and beautiful while dancing.

“Your breasts — they are a part of your body. The way you expose them, or the way you pose in a certain way, will make your body look good or not.

“Obviously you’re not gonna want to see a bunch of topless girls doing jumping jacks or doing weird leaps in the air,” she said.

By the way, we have a dance-nerd question for this expert: What’s her all-time favorite dance movie?

“I love me some ‘Top Hat,’ ” the 1935 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, she said.

“And then of course ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.’ And if you get to the ’80s, ‘Stayin’ Alive,’ ” she said. “The reason why I moved to L.A. is I wanted to be in the next ‘Stayin’ Alive.’ ”

HOW’S YOUR FLEXIBILITY?

Cirque du Soleil is holding open auditions noon-2 p.m. Friday at the Westin hotel while the Hip Hop International World Battles happens there.

Just like in the movies, your open audition will include “learning and performing a variety of challenging choreographies (and) dancers will each perform a two-minute piece showcasing their unique styles,” according to Cirque.

If you make Friday’s cut, you go on to Saturday’s finals. If you make Saturday’s finals, you get put on a list of “potential” future acts. Cirque claims one out of every four people on its 2013 and 2014 “potential” lists got job offers of one sort or another.

So yes, you too can work in the shape of an impressive pretzel-athlete-artist on stage.

GOOD DAUGHTER

Actress Ming-Na Wen surprised her mother Wednesday by spontaneously driving to Las Vegas for her 81st birthday.

“Happy Birthday, Mom!” Wen Instagrammed from what appears to be her mother’s home. “It was priceless to see her SO SURPRISED & happy to see us. This is what life and family is all about.”

Wen’s long career started with appearing in “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” and moved into starring roles in “As the World Turns,” “The Joy Luck Club” and “ER”; and doing the main voice-over for “Mulan” and video game “Kingdom Hearts II;” although lately she has starred in ABC-TV’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

PUCKER UP

Pop band R5 — popular on Radio Disney and made up of four Lynch siblings and a fifth musician — saw “Absinthe” on Wednesday night and Instagrammed “Absolutely amazing show!”

On Tuesday, R5 celebrated singer Rydel Lynch’s birthday with steak, shrimp and desserts at Tao restaurant in The Venetian. Lynch’s boyfriend, band mate Ellington Ratliff, was there.

And the birthday star got a really, really big mouth kiss from her brother’s reported one-off girlfriend Savannah Hudson, who posted a photo of this on Instagram, saying, “had to give her the birthday ritual.”

(FYI: J-14.com reported this kiss first.)
