Carmel Hills to open


American West will celebrate its newest generation of homes with the grand opening of its Carmel Hills neighborhood today.

"The homes in Carmel Hills showcase a new lifestyle of living. These homes represent American West's latest innovative design features that include unparalleled versatility and architecture; beautifully appointed, upgraded, standard features; luxurious baths; and, of course, our signature gourmet kitchens with center dining islands," said American West President Larry Canarelli. "These homes are truly enchanting and a must-see."

The homes in Carmel Hills also come with tile entries; water-conserving Moen faucets; Whirlpool microwaves; granite kitchen countertops; center kitchen dining islands with pendant lighting; Marblestone natural stone vanities, showers and tubs; and energy-saving features that helped American West homes earn the NV Energy Plus certification.

Carmel Hills features eight floor plans ranging from 1,608 to 2,995 square feet and starting at $197,500.

"The open floor plans and flexible living areas at Carmel Hills are designed for the needs of families today. Our floor plans have the flexibility required to reflect the lifestyle of the homeowner. With so many options and floor plans, the possibilities are almost endless. These homes can be customized to fit anyone's needs. The homes feature great rooms, dens, bonus rooms, game rooms and options for double master suites, depending on the floor plan.

Carmel Hills features a Diamond Series and a Platinum series of new home designs.

Featuring three home designs, the Diamond series ranges from 2,003 to 2,673 square feet.

The Diamond Princess is a two-story home measuring 2,003 square feet with four bedrooms, 2½ baths, great room, dining area and the option to extend the third bedroom in lieu of having a fourth bedroom.

The two-story Diamond Faberge home features five bedrooms, 2½ baths, great room, dining area and upstairs laundry.

Options for the Diamond Faberge plan include an extended fourth bedroom, extended master closet and also a master retreat.

The split-level Diamond Cartier measures 2,673 square feet and includes a first-floor master suite, three additional bedrooms, great room, dining area, game room and bonus room.

The home also includes a front balcony. Options for the Diamond Cartier include den, second master suite, and additional powder room and walk-in closet in the bonus room.

The Platinum Series includes five floor plans ranging from 1,608 to 2,995 square feet.

The Platinum Ruby is a two-story, 1,608 square-foot home with three bedrooms, 2½ baths, great room, upstairs laundry room and master walk-in closet.

One of the most flexible floor plans available at Carmel Hill, The Platinum Emerald comes in a two-story and split-level version.

The two-story Platinum Emerald features 2,034 square feet including four bedrooms, 2½ baths, great room, upstairs laundry and the option for a den.

The split-level Platinum Emerald with BRAG space measures 2,714 square feet with three bedrooms, den and bonus room.

The BRAG space is a design unique to American West. The feature offers homebuyers additional living space in their new home. The standard BRAG space is a bonus room. Options include adding a fourth bedroom with the bonus room or adding two additional bedrooms with a study and bath.

The split-level Platinum Sapphire measures 2,995 square feet and features four bedrooms, 2½ baths, great room, family room and game room with storage closet. There is also a storage area located off the laundry room.

Options for the Platinum Sapphire include a fifth bedroom with bath located on the first floor with the game room; a bath in the game room; and a den in lieu of the fourth bedroom. There is also an option for a double refrigerator in the kitchen.

A two-story home with the master bedroom and large retreat on the first floor, the 1,839-square-foot Diamond Topaz floor plan features a front balcony, three bedrooms, great room and his-and-hers walk-in closets.
