UNLV QB Blake Decker honored for academic work

Former UNLV quarterback Blake Decker has been named a member of the 2016 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society.

The group is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained at least a cumulative 3.2 grade point average throughout their college career.

A senior marketing major out of Mesa, Arizona, Decker holds a 3.37 cumulative grade point average and is a two-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree.

The former junior college transfer finished his career ranked eighth in career passing yards (4,599) at UNLV despite playing only 22 games for the Rebels. Decker left the program ranked fourth in school history with five 300-yard passing games. He threw 27 touchdown passes and 26 interceptions.
