Las Vegas isn’t quite the best place in the U.S. to get married

Las Vegas has long been known as the place to either mistakenly marry someone you met the same night or host the wedding of your dreams, but a new ranking puts the city as the second-best to get married.

More than five percent of all U.S. weddings are performed in Clark County, but a ranking from WalletHub puts Orlando, Fla., in the top spot. The list took into account wedding planning essentials such as cost, facilities and services, and activities and attractions in the 150 most-populated U.S. cities.

To determine the most inexpensive wedding locations, they examined the average overall cost of weddings in the area, the price of three-star hotel rooms and the cost of a three-course meal for two.

With Las Vegas home to many world-class resorts and restaurants, the city ranked 86th in terms of wedding cost. Las Vegas ranked especially high in the wedding facilities and services categories, as well as in activities and attractions.

Here are the top 10 overall best cities to get married, according to WalletHub:

  1. Orlando, Fla.
  2. Las Vegas
  3. Atlanta
  4. Tampa, Fla.
  5. Springfield, Mo.
  6. Cincinnati
  7. Salt Lake City
  8. Miami, Fla.
  9. Boise, Idaho
  10. Tucson, Ariz.

Based on a previous WalletHub study, Las Vegas ranked as the second-best honeymoon destination in the country — again, with Orlando in the lead. We see you, Florida.
