The Desert Breeze Aquatic Facility, 8275 Spring Mountain Road, played host again to the annual Cardboard Boat Regatta July 22. Those who participated constructed their vessels by using only cardboard and duct tape and were also allowed to customize their aquatic vehicles with colored tape, ribbons, streamers and markers. Certificates were handed out to those whose boats went above and beyond the call of duty, such as most creative and fastest ship. The Renville brothers, Brayden, 10, and Connor, 4, took home the creative award. Jameson McMillan won the fastest ship distinction. Visit ClarkCountyNV.gov/parks.
