Hike the Historic Railroad Trail, a 4.4-mile, round-trip hike that takes you through five tunnels with views of Lake Mead. The trip back will include a 45-minute, all-levels yoga class overlooking the lake. Aquatic classes: High School Tune-up swim classes are planned through Feb. 20 at Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road. The classes are meant to teach and improve swimming techniques and build endurance by learning how to use a diving block and make flip turns. Friday class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. will focus on strokes and technique, and Saturday class from 9 to 10:30 a.m. will focus on endurance, starts and turns. The tune-up classes are $4 per visit. Kickin' it for Cartwheel: The kickball tournament hosted by the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation is planned at 8 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 N. Pahrump Hot Air Balloon Festival: The annual event is set for noon Feb. 26 and 8 a.m. Feb. 27 and 28 at Petrack Park, 150 state Route 160, in Pahrump, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas. The family-friendly festival is set to bring together more than 20 hot air balloon pilots from the western states, music, entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and more. CSI Mini-Camp/Demystifying the Forensic Sciences: Families can visit with forensic scientists from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 21 during a CSI Mini-Camp at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Attendees will experience criminal investigation techniques such as bone identification, fingerprinting and DNA analysis with law enforcement officers, crime scene investigators, evidence analysts and medical examiners. The museum's Live Paleo-Lab will be open for visitors to interact with paleontological work being done on dinosaur and pre-historic mammal fossils excavated locally. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Another event, for adults only, Demystifying the Forensic Sciences, is planned for 3:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the museum. The forensic showcase will be moderated by Dr. Bruce Goldberger, past president of AAFS and director of the UF Health Forensic Medicine. Birds of the Las Vegas Wash: A guided hike with a Wetlands Park nature guide and a birding expert from the Red Rock Audubon Society is planned for 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at Wetlands Park, 7050 E. Color Run: The fifth annual event, dubbed the "Happiest 5K on the Planet, is set for 8 a.m. Feb, 27 in downtown Las Vegas, with a portion of the proceeds set to benefit Three Square food bank. Runners, walkers or sprinters of all ages and athletic abilities will be bathed in an array of colors and island scents as they cruise through a scene of palm trees, vibrant arches and festive music. Upon finishing, Color Runners can celebrate at the Rainbow Beach during the Finish Festival with a color throw celebration, music, dancing and photo opportunities. Walk with the Heart of a Child: The Children's Heart Foundation invites all Las Vegans to participate in the 13th annual Walk with the Heart of a Child at 7 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
