The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce will hold its Morning Mingle from 7:30-9:30 a.m. April 29.

“This breakfast meeting is designed to help members learn how to maximize their chamber membership,” according to a chamber press release.

The event will take place at the Spring-Hill Suites by Marriott Las Vegas Convention Center, 2989 Paradise Road.

5K RACE FOR HOPE AND FUN WALK FOR AUTISM EVENT SET FOR APRIL 26

The fifth annual 5K Race for Hope and Fun Walk for Autism will take place April 26 at Town Square Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce website, “Grant a Gift Autism Foundation’s 5K Race for Hope and Fun Walk for Autism has grown to become one of the most popular 5K races in Las Vegas. Each year on the last Saturday in April, the 5K Race for Hope and Fun Walk draws thousands to Town Square with a shared mission to raise funds for the autism community. Funds raised will provide diagnostic, support services and community outreach connections for the more than 6,000 Nevada children and youths living with autism.”

The event will run from 7 a.m.-noon at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Mailed registration entries must be postmarked by April 24. On race day, registration will be held from 7-8 a.m.

SUNRISE HOSPITAL & MEDICAL CENTER EARNS KNEE, HIP AND SPINE CERTIFICATION

Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center has announced that it has received knee, hip and spine certification by the Joint Commission, according to a hospital press release.

“The FLEX Program at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for disease-specific care in the areas of knee, hip and spine by demonstrating compliance with national standards for health care quality and safety,” according to the release. “The certification recognizes Sunrise’s dedication to continuous compliance with the Joint Commission’s rigorous standards.”

“Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center underwent three rigorous on-site reviews in March 2014,” according to the release. “A Joint Commission expert evaluated Sunrise for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.”

The hospital is the first in Las Vegas to receive the combined certification, according to the release.
