1. Touch-A-Truck: Family to Family’s 12th annual event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2 in the northwest parking lot at the Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. Dozens of big rigs, including fire engines, ambulances, police SWAT vehicles, construction and roadwork equipment, will be available for youths to explore. 2. Extreme Thing Sports & Music Festival: The annual event, presented by Clark County Parks & Recreation, is set from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 2 at Desert Breeze Park, 8275 Spring Mountain Road at Durango Drive. A new layout is planned for 2016, with five concert stages, the Vegas AmJam (an amateur skate and BMX competition), vendor village and food area. Fine Juried Art Show: More than 100 artists are set to display artwork as the Sun City Summerlin Art Club presents its Fine Art Juried Show “Imagine!” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2 and 3 at the Desert Vista Community Center, 10338 Sun City Blvd. Entries will include watercolor, acrylic, oil and mixed media. It features a 13.1-mile course that begins and ends at Downtown Summerlin and includes a tour of several Summerlin villages and a chip-timed run/walk. Top male and female finishers in varying age groups are recognized; all participants receive medals and shirts. A portion of the proceeds benefits the nonprofit Girls on the Run. Tour De Summerlin Cycling Event: Hundreds of cyclists are expected to participate in the 15th annual Tour de Summerlin April 16 at Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Drive. Cyclists for the 80-mile ride begin at 7 a.m.; cyclists for the 60-mile ride begin at 7:45 a.m.; and cyclists for the 40-mile ride begin at 8:30 a.m. The non-competitive cycling event includes the community’s dedicated bike routes as well as open desert roads. Clark County Fair & Rodeo: The annual Clark County Fair & Rodeo is set from 2 to 11 p.m. April 6, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. April 7, 10 a.m. to midnight, April 8 and 9 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 10 at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Logandale, 1301 Whipple Ave. Presale discount admission is $8, and a presale pass for all five days is $24. The event will offer nearly 150 booths and 70 tabletops, as well as demonstrations in flameworking and other glass art techniques. Additionally, more than 250 classes are set to be taught by professional artists and industry leaders, with mediums including stained, fused, mosaics, coldworking, beadmaking and marble making. Red Rock marathon: Triple Dare Running Co. plans its spring race, Flight of Fire Trail Half Marathon & 10K, for May 14 at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, 1000 Scenic Loop Drive. Starting at the Visitor Center, the course will travel clockwise to the Moenkopi Loop, the Grand Circle Loop, and the White Rock-Willow Springs Trail, then to the White Rock dirt road, back to the Grand Circle Loop, on to the Calico Hills Trail, and finally back to the Moenkopi Loop, finishing back at the center. This course is a technical trail race, and trail shoes with gaiters are recommended. The 10K follows the same course, ending at the White Rock aid station. Unite@night Walk: The Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation plans to host the event at 7:30 p.m. June 11 at the Kellogg-Zaher Soccer Complex, 7901 W.
