Rao’s adds ‘Throwdown’ Feast to holiday menu selections

The Pellegrino family, owners of Rao's at Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South, were victorious in its recent challenge on the Foot Network's "Throwdown With Bobby Flay." In the wake of its victory Rao's has added the "Throwdown" Feast of the Seven Fishes to its holiday menus. To be served on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the menu includes a Tuscan seafood soup with lobster, shrimp, calamari, sea bass, mussels, cockles, clams and scallops; Linguine All'Aragosta; and Mediterranean sea bass baked in a salt crust. Vintner Grill, 10100 W. Charleston Blvd., has introduced a small-plates menu, which is available from 3 to 6 p.m. daily and on Thursdays beginning at 9 p.m. The dishes, which are priced at $6 to $9, include Moroccan-style chicken wings with apricot glaze and cassoulet of French cheeses with wild mushrooms. ...

Jerry's Famous Coffee Shop at Jerry's Nugget, 1821 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is continuing its $9.89 lobster special throughout December. The dinner includes salad, potato or rice and bread; a steak can be added for $2 extra.

The coffee shop has an additional special available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays this month. The steak and king crab dinner is $11.89, and there's an option to switch out the steak for an extra portion of crab legs.

And Jerry's will be selling its pies in a buy-two-get-one-free special. Apple, cherry and pumpkin pies are $8.95; mincemeat, banana cream, coconut cream and chocolate cream are $9.95. ...
