The agency overseeing the regional response to the coronavirus pandemic is scrambling to locate places for tens of thousands of students to learn outside the home as the school district prepares for virtual instruction.
Clark County officials plan to spend $12 million to combat chronic absenteeism and truancy in schools, hoping that increasing classroom attendance will reduce juvenile delinquency.
Since fiscal year 2006, the county’s Department of Air Quality has transferred more than $7.3 million in air quality penalty funds to the Clark County School District.
