Board President Linda Cavazos discussed the letter from ousted Superintendent Jesus Jara’s lawyer seeking a buyout of more than $2.65 million for the remainder of his contract.
Southern Nevada restaurants and bars are offering free and discounted food and drink to veterans and active members of the military on Veterans Day Nov. 11.
The board voted 4-3 last week to terminate Superintendent Jesus Jara’s contract “for convenience,” meaning they didn’t need to provide a reason. He’ll remain on the job until Dec. 1.
