Woman, unborn baby, killed in wrong-way Reno crash that left the other driver dead

RENO — Reno police have identified a woman who, along with her unborn baby, was killed in a wrong-way crash that left the other driver dead.

Police say 27-year-old Alisa Hardy-Orton, of Reno, suffered fatal injuries in the head-on collision Friday night.

Responding officers found Hardy-Orton and the other driver unresponsive at the scene on Somersett Parkway.

Police say Hardy-Orton was clearly pregnant.

She was rushed to a hospital but doctors couldn’t save her or her unborn child.

The other driver, who investigators say had been driving the wrong direction, was also pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police have not determined whether alcohol or drugs were a factor.

Authorities aren’t releasing the other driver’s identity because next of kin have not been found.
