ROUNDUP: Pico’s pair of no-hitters helps Legacy to two wins

Sierra Pico tossed a pair of five-inning no-hitters Thursday as Legacy’s softball team opened play with two wins in the Colorado River Invitational at Needles, Calif.

Pico started the day by blanking White Pine, 10-0. Alexis Fuller was 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for the Longhorns, who did all of their scoring in the third inning.

The Longhorns then posted a 4-0 win over Pahrump behind a 2-for-2 effort from Kierra Ottis.

Spring Valley 19, Canyon Springs 5 — At Spring Valley, Kira Morehead went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored as the Grizzlies routed the Pioneers.

Georgi DeLio went 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs scored for Spring Valley, and teammate Katie Campo was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Tech 1, Chino Valley (Ariz.) 0 — At Needles, Calif., Amanda Roark fired a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead the Roadrunners to the five-inning win at the Colorado River Invitational.

Jordyn Roark and Ashley Ramsey each had two hits, and Jamie Contreras drove in the lone run for Tech.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Needles 0 — At Needles, Calif., Alexa Snyder pitched a five-inning two-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Spartans blanked the Mustangs in the Colorado River Invitational.

Sarah Murphy went 2-for-2 for Cimarron, which took a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Barstow (Calif.) 4, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Needles, Calif., the Aztecs downed the Spartans in the Colorado River Invitational.

Sarina Creswell went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Cimarron, and Carli Stafford added an RBI double.

Coachella Valley (Calif.) 6, Faith Lutheran 3  — At Needles, Calif., the Arabs scored five runs with two outs in the second inning to top the Crusaders in the four-inning game at the Colorado River Invitational.

Only one of the second-inning runs was earned.

Yucca Valley (Calif.) 9, Mountain View 3 — At Needles, Calif., the Trojans scored six runs in the first inning and downed the Saints in a three-inning game in the Colorado River Invitational.

Centennial 11, Greenway (Ariz.) 4 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Bailie Nelson homered and was one of seven players to record two hits as the Bulldogs routed Greenway in an opening-round game in the Tournament of Champions.

Savannah Horvath had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Centennial.

Saugus (Ariz.) 1, Centennial 0 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Centennial managed a pair of singles in a loss to Saugus in the Tournament of Champions.

Kate Rauskin was in the circle for Centennial, allowing only an unearned run on five hits in seven innings.

Clovis (Calif.) 10, Coronado 3 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Clovis used a seven-run third inning to top the Cougars in the Tournament of Champions.

Katie Dawson as 2-for-2 with an RBI for Coronado.

Sandra Day O’Connor (Ariz.) 4, Foothill 1 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Nicole Aviles threw a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts as the Eagles downed the Falcons in the Tournament of Champions.

Enterprise (Utah) 27, Cheyenne 0 — At Mesquite, the Wolves used a nine-run second inning and a 13-run third inning to rout the Desert Shields in the Sherm Bennett Memorial Classic.

Enterprise had seven extra-base hits, including four home runs.

Arbor View 18, Moapa Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Letty Valenzuela spun a four-inning one-hitter as the Aggies routed the Pirates in the Sherm Bennett Memorial Classic.

Chelsa Baca was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Arbor View, which led 13-0 after two innings.

Ashlyn Ames hit a three-run home run, and Karli Lehr was 2-for-2 with three RBIs for Arbor View.
