Man involved in Wednesday scooter crash dies

The man who was hospitalized after a scooter crash Wednesday in the east valley died over the weekend at University Medical Center, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

He was 70-year-old Noel Behrens of Las Vegas, the coroner’s office said Monday.

Metro officers were called to the crash just before 5 p.m. in the intersection of Washington Avenue and North Lamb Boulevard, where the scooter collided with a minivan.

Police said Wednesday that Behrens, the driver of the scooter, was taken to UMC in serious, but stable condition.

He died Saturday, the coroner’s office said.
