Teen remains critical after being hit by car
A 16-year-old Las Vegas girl remains in critical condition after she was hit by a car Saturday evening in the southwest valley.
Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicate that just before 5 p.m. Saturday a group of was crossing Durango Drive, about 25 feet south of Spring Mountain Road, outside of a crosswalk and against the traffic signal, according to a Metro press release.
The girl was struck by a car traveling southbound on Durango and was thrown over the top of the vehicle, according to the release. She was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The 19-year-old driver of the 2002 Saturn SL2 stayed at the scene and did not appear to be impaired, police said in the release.
