Pedestrian dies after being struck by one vehicle, run over by second vehicle

Updated November 9, 2025 - 10:27 pm

A woman is dead after being struck by two vehicles in two separate hit-and-run crashes in east Las Vegas on Saturday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Metro said the first crash happened on North Nellis Boulevard, north of East Monroe Avenue around 7:42 p.m.

Police said according to evidence at the scene and video surveillance, a light-colored sedan was heading north on Nellis Boulevard in the middle lane when a 53-year-old woman on foot entered the road outside of a crosswalk and into the sedan’s path. That’s when, police said, the sedan struck the woman and caused her “to be projected onto the roadway.” The vehicle stopped briefly before leaving the scene, according to Metro.

Just seconds later, a light-colored hatchback, drove over the woman, police said. The hatchback pulled over at a nearby business and two people got out and walked over to the location of the crash before getting back in the vehicle and leaving scene, Metro stated.

Medical personnel arrived on scene but “determined the pedestrian was beyond resuscitation and ceased life-saving efforts,” according to Metro’s press release.

Police said this is the 137th traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2025.
