Trooper saves man from jumping off bridge

Maryland State Police tweeted dashcam video on Tuesday of a trooper saving a man from jumping off a bridge.

“Tragedy avoided as a Maryland State Trooper saves the life of a man attempting to jump off the Tydings Bridge,” the tweet read.

The dramatic video shows the trooper quickly approaching the man in his patrol car and then running towards him to pull him down before he jumps.

WMAR Baltimore reported that the trooper had seen the man walking across the bridge before he approached him.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and police have not charged him with anything.

The time and date stamp on the video shows the incident happened on August 9.
