Police: Man, 28, arrested in slaying of girlfriend in Henderson
A woman’s body was discovered at a home in Henderson on Tuesday and her 28-year-old boyfriend is suspected of killing her, the Henderson Police Department said.
Maurice Vanderall, 28, was taken into custody Tuesday evening and was expected to be formally charged soon, according to a news release from the Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a homicide at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 200 block of West Horizon Ridge Parkway, near South Eastern Avenue and St. Rose Parkway, where they found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds, the release said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The call, the release said, came from Vanderall, who reported that he had killed his girlfriend and that he had “attempted to harm” himself, according to police.
Vanderall was then taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Henderson officers will remain with Vanderall until he is medically cleared, the release said. He will then be booked into the Henderson Detention Center, police said.
The name and age of the victim had not been released as of Wednesday evening.
The homicide was the eighth in Henderson in 2025.
