Intersection reopened after bike-vehicle accident

Traffic in the area of Main Street and Foremaster Lane was shut down for at least two hours Friday afternoon following a vehicle-versus-bicycle accident near the intersection.

Las Vegas police responded to the collision about 1:30 p.m. in which a white Dodge Durango struck a homeless man on a red children’s bicycle, police said.

The bicyclist was transported to University Medical Center before police arrived at the crash, said Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

Police at the scene said the bicyclist sustained a head injury, but Metro spokesman Jesse Roybal said later that the man’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

The roads were reopened by 4 p.m., Roybal said.
