Henderson police investigate officer-involved shooting on Center Street

Updated December 14, 2025 - 9:25 pm

The Henderson Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday morning in the 1000 block of Center Street when officers responded to a call of a man trying to kidnap a woman.

Captain Haven Tillmon said the shooting happened around 9:43 a.m. One suspect was taken to a local hospital and no officers were injured.

Tillmon said the woman fled before police contacted the man near his vehicle and issued him commands that he ignored. The man then got into his vehicle and drove toward the officers, leading to at least one officer shooting at the man, Tillmon said. during a media briefing Sunday afternoon.

The man was struck but fled the scene, Tillmon said. He added that he is unsure how many shots were fired at the man.

Later, Tillmon said police found the man in a Las Vegas residence and took him to the University Medical Center, where is in critical but stable condition.

Tillmon said police believe the man and the woman knew each other, but said he could not answer what their relationship was and did not disclose their identities.

“If you are experiencing any domestic violence issues, especially with the holidays around, please, if you can leave, leave,” Tillmon said. “If you can call 911, please call. There’s a ton of resources that we can offer.”

This incident marks the third officer-involved shooting in the city of Henderson this year, Tillmon said.
