Aerodrome celebrates Drone Day in Boulder City

Henderson-based company Aerodrome celebrated International Drone Day on May 7 at the Eldorado Droneport in Boulder City. The event included tutorials and drone racing.

Aerodrome was created to help people interested in learning to become a pilot for unmanned aircraft systems to do it in an expedited time. It’s a nine-week course in which students attend class for eight hours a day, five days a week.

The company started in December 2014 as a way to teach people from any background about drones, allowing them to earn multiple certifications that meet manufacturer and Federal Aviation Administration standards.

It has also worked with Boulder City to create a droneport to be used by hobbyists. Aerodrome has been working over the last year to get the proper licensing to allow companies to use the facility commercially.

Drone hobbyists came out to the Drone Day event to participate in freestyle flying and FPV racing.
