Red Mercury Entertainment to operate Riviera’s showrooms

The Riviera said Wednesday it has entered into a management agreement with Red Mercury Entertainment to have the firm operate new shows within the Strip casino’s showrooms and entertainment venues.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Based in Las Vegas, Red Mercury will oversee operations in the Casino Lounge, Starlite Theater, Crazy Girls Theater, and the Riviera Comedy Club Theater.

“The Riviera Hotel & Casino has a storied past when it comes to entertainment,” said Rob Kunkle, general manager of the Riviera. “We have many showrooms and entertainment venues that allow ample opportunity for Red Mercury Entertainment to broaden our current outstanding line-up.”

Meanwhile, the casino’s parent company, Riviera Holdings Corp., has appointed Michael Pearse to the position of CFO and treasurer. Pearse was also appointed CFO, treasurer and vice president of finance for the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Riviera Operating Corp.

Pearse replaces Paul Roshetko, who left the company last month. Riviera Holdings, which hasn’t released third-quarter earnings, reported a second-quarter loss of $7.3 million on net revenues of $15.7 million.
