Brittney Cobb, executive secretary at the Suncoast and owner of Fit For The Crown, was inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada.

Souzan El-Eid, a surgeon with Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada’s breast surgery division and medical director at the Breast Care Center at Summerlin Hospital, was recognized by patientschoice.com as one of America’s Most Compassionate Doctors. More than 200,000 patients in the United States provided feedback.

EDUCATION

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas named Kim Metcalf dean of the College of Education, effective July 1. He is currently the director of institutional research and planning at the University of West George.

Slater Hanifan Group named Nancy Afnani engineer intern I in the water/wastewater division.

GAMING AND HOSPITALITY

SBE named Michael Toney executive director of hotel sales for SLS Las Vegas. The property broke ground in March and is slated to open in fall 2014.

Eleven new members joined the Las Vegas Hospitality Association in March. The new members include: Beth Carden (Black Canyon River Adventures); Kim Davis (Lakeshore Audiovisual); Brennan O’Neal (Liquid Courage); Elena Paige (Mob Attraction); Randi Garrett (Naakiti Floral Design); Cynthia Behr Warso (Neon Museum); Greg Olsen and Audrey Newman (Prop Gallery Events); Tammy Stephens (Sugar Factory); T Music Entertainment Group (Thien-nga Palmer); and Vicki Savini (Table 23).

Feel Good Brands added three members to its Las Vegas team. Dana Piccolella was named finance, director and Laila Moravia was named financial analyst. Stephanie Parisi was named office manager.

LAW

Lionel Sawyer & Collins shareholder Justice A. William Maupin was selected as a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

Jeffrey Silver, shareholder of Gordon Silver, was selected as a Leader in His Field in the Chambers USA 2013 Guide published by chambers and Partners.

Matthew Zirzow, also an attorney with Gordon Silver, completed the requirements for the national certification in business bankruptcy law according to the American Board of Certification. He is one of only 13 attorneys in Nevada to pass the ABC certification exam.

Billy Holmes, area vice president for Securitas Security Services USA, and Terri Conway, senior vice president of talent for SHFL Entertainment, were named to the Salvation Army’s board of directors.

Rosamari McNulty, senior director of human resources and volunteer services for Nathan Adelson Hospice, joined the United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council.
