Las Vegas flight diverts to Phoenix after bird strike cracks window

An American Airlines plane diverted to Phoenix after a bird strike cracked a cockpit window during takeoff from McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Airline spokesman Matt Miller said nobody was injured and that the six crew members and 174 passengers boarded another plane in Phoenix early Thursday morning to resume their flight to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Miller said the aircraft with the cracked window remained in Phoenix so repairs can be made.

Phoenix is a hub for the airline.
