US 95 reopened after possible suicide attempt
U.S. Highway 95 was reopened after being shut down in the northwest valley Wednesday afternoon due to a possible suicide attempt, according to Las Vegas police.
About 1 p.m., police received calls that a man was sitting on the freeway overpass on West Smoke Ranch Road over U.S. 95, attempting to climb over the fence, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.
The man later was taken into custody.
Travel on West Smoke Ranch will remain restricted until the police and medical units leave the area.
