Water Cooler: Electric Daisy, toothpick thieves, Madonna

Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ Electric Daisy Carnival 2012 wraps up a three-night run in Las Vegas. Mental note: Invest heavily in bikini, glow stick and furry boot futures between now and next year.

■ Police search for thieves who lifted about 400,000 toothpicks from an Athens, Ga., toothpick manufacturer. Police are searching for artistically inclined third-graders with big ambitions.

■ A man reading "War and Peace" on his Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader notices that every reference to "kindle" is changed to "nook." Should be fun to read that story in which Tarzan encounters a tribe of Amazons.

■ Madonna flashes a nipple during a concert in Istanbul. Must be auditioning for "Grandmas Gone Wild."
