2 UNLV football games picked up by satellite TV network ROOT SPORTS

Nine of UNLV’s 12 football games this season will be televised after ROOT SPORTS announced Thursday that the network will show two Rebels home games this year.

The network, which is available in Southern Nevada by satellite only (DirecTV channel 683, DISH channel 5414 HD), will televise UNLV’s games at Sam Boyd Stadium against Colorado State on Oct. 22 at 2:30 p.m. and Wyoming on Nov. 12 at either noon or 12:30 p.m.

The Rebels open the season by hosting Jackson State on Sept. 1. The game is one of three on UNLV’s schedule that has yet to be assigned a television partner or kickoff time.

The others are the Rebels’ home game vs. Idaho on Sept. 24 and at Hawaii on Oct. 15.

Here are the nine games that will be televised (all times Pacific):

Sept. 10 at UCLA (Pac-12 Network, 5 p.m.)

Sept. 17 at Central Michigan (ESPN3, noon)

Oct. 1 vs. FRESNO STATE (CBS Sports Network, 7:30 p.m.)

Oct. 8 at San Diego State (ESPN Networks, TBA)

Oct. 22 vs. COLORADO STATE (ROOT SPORTS, 2:30 p.m.)

Oct. 29 at San José State (CBSSN, 7:30 p.m.)

Nov. 12 vs. WYOMING (ROOT SPORTS, 12 or 12:30 p.m.)

Nov. 18 at Boise State (ESPN2, 6 p.m.)

Nov. 26 vs. UNR (ESPN Networks, TBA).
