Metro evacuates office complex searching for man after traffic stop

A business complex near the intersection of Cimarron Road and Sahara Avenue is being evacuated while Las Vegas police search for someone who fled the scene of a traffic stop Wednesday morning.

The driver was stopped near the intersection of Cimarron and Via Olivero Avenue about 11:30 a.m., and the officer who initiated the stop called for backup when the driver mentioned having a gun, police say.

The driver ran away, and police chased the driver. Police say they have found a gun on their search.

Police dogs are en route.

It was not immediately known if traffic in the area is being affected.
