Person shot in face near Owens and H

Las Vegas police investigated a shooting in the central valley Wednesday that left one person with wounds to the face.

Officers responded about 9:15 a.m. to the shooting in the 700 block of Owens Avenue, near H Street, said Metro spokesman Officer Jesse Roybal.

It appears someone was shot in the face and an “extremity,” Roybal said, emphasizing that the wounds were not life-threatening.

The wounded person was taken to University Medical Center, Roybal said. An age and gender were not available.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument moments beforehand at a nearby business, Roybal said. He could not describe the nature of the argument or the type of business.

No information about the shooter was available Wednesday afternoon.

Roybal said road closures at H Street and Owens were lifted about 10:15 a.m.
