I-A BASEBALL: Hubel pitches Boulder City into title game

Boulder City right-hander Jacob Hubel allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings as the Eagles shocked the defending region champion Faith Lutheran, 4-3. Hubel only needed 79 pitches to dispatch the Crusaders. He threw 52 strikes and 27 balls.

Grizzlies’ Rupp overpowers Sierra Vista

Spring Valley’s Nick Rupp, who has committed to UNLV, used his fastball to overpower Sierra Vista hitters all day. Rupp struck out 13 in a one-hitter as the Grizzlies beat the Mountain Lions, 1-0.
