THIS WEEK'S BUSINESS PRESS POLL QUESTION

The Supreme Court will consider whether to let a class action lawsuit against
Wal-Mart that could affect up to 1.5 million women continue. The lawsuit, first filed by six women in 2001, claims Wal-Mart pays women less than men and promotes them less frequently, but the company says the women should sue the individual stores since there is no companywide policy of discrimination. Critics say the Wal-Mart case, which was allowed to proceed after a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision, could spark an avalanche of similar class action lawsuits throughout the West.

Do you think the courts should impose limits on who can qualify to be included in a class action lawsuit?
