Las Vegas’ newest Costco has set its opening date.
The popular members-only big-box retailer is scheduled to open its newly built location in the southwest valley at 8 a.m. on Aug. 21.
Located at 6880 S. Buffalo Drive, just south of the 215 Beltway, the 155,000-square-foot warehouse will have 305 employees and feature around 3,800 to 4,000 different products, according to marketing materials.
It will have components that Costco customers are used to, including a food court, pharmacy, optical department, fresh meat and fish, and a gas station, as well as brand-name and private-label merchandise.
Known as a place to buy food, toilet paper and other items in bulk, Costco already operates five locations in Southern Nevada.
Clark County commissioners approved the soon-to-open Costco in 2023.
The company, based in Washington state, boasts 900-plus locations globally, including more than 600 across the United States.
In its most recent fiscal year, the company earned nearly $7.4 billion in profit, on almost $250 billion in sales, according to a securities filing.
