Developer Rise Communities planning move from Henderson to Houston

Rise Communities LLC of Henderson, the developer of Seven Hills and Aliante, will be moving to Houston in the first quarter of 2015, President Dan Naef said.

“We have two large master-plan communities in Houston, which is our base right now,” he said. “It’s much more effective and efficient to move the company there than to travel as much as we are now.”

Naef said five of the company’s six employees will be moving to Texas. One will work for Rise Communities from Henderson.

The company began building Cane Island, its first master-planned community in Houston, which sits on 1,000-acres, in mid-November.

An additional master-planned community is in Rise Communities’ future. Meridiana, a 2,700-acre community with 5,500 homes, is scheduled to begin building mid-2015.

Rise Communities was founded in 2011 in Henderson.

Naef said the entire Rise Development Partners team came from American Nevada Co.’s division for master-planned communities.

He added that his team was responsible for Seven Hills, a Henderson-based master-planned community consisting of 25 neighborhoods with more than 2,500 homes on 1,300 acres, and Aliante, a 1,905-acre community with 6,500 homes in North Las Vegas.

Naef said he’s looking forward to the move.

“Our experience with Texas is that it’s warm and friendly,” he said. “However, our roots have been here for many years and leaving our family and friends is always the most difficult part.”
