Nevada Health Link’s board taps new leadership

The state’s health insurance exchange has new board leadership.

Nevada Health Link’s board of directors elected Leslie Johnstone as its new chairwoman. Johnstone, who’s been on the board since 2011, will replace outgoing chair Barbara Smith Campbell, who said in January that she planned to step down from the board to focus on expansion of her Reno-based consulting firm.

Johnstone is executive director of the Health Services Coalition, a nonprofit organization representing 23 self-funded employer and labor trust health plans covering 270,000 Southern Nevadans.

Marie Kerr, also a long-time board member, was elected vice chairwoman. Kerr is taking over for Lynn Etkins, an attorney who’s leaving the post to take a job in California.

Kerr is an attorney and partner with Kerr IP Group and chief financial officer of NexRf Corp., a technology startup in Reno.
