Slot machine maker Scientific Games Corp. will develop a slot machine based on the popular building block-style Tetris video game that is currently played on mobile devices and home computers.
In a statement, Las Vegas-based Scientific Games said it signed an agreement to create a slot machine based on the Tetris game for use in casinos. Terms of the licensing agreement were not announced. Tetris said the company has recorded more than 525 million paid mobile downloads of the game.
"We look forward to working with the Tetris team to bring the iconic video game experience to our slot machines for players to enjoy on casino floors," said Steve Saferin, president of Scientific Games Properties Group.
