Clark County coroner IDs bicyclist killed Sunday in hit-and-run crash

The bicyclist killed in Sunday night’s hit-and-run crash in the central valley has been identified as 42-year-old Jeremy Chad Clark.

The Clark County coroner’s office said Clark died from multiple blunt force injuries; his death was ruled an accident.

The Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded at about 8:45 p.m. to a report of a bicyclist hit by a vehicle. A Ford F250 truck, heading north on Torrey Pines, hit Clark, the bicyclist, and crashed into a backyard wall at 6349 Bannock Way, police said.

Clark was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.

The truck’s driver, who ran from the scene, was arrested on charges of DUI and hit and run.

Luis Aguilar-Lujan was arrested in connection with the crash, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

Aguilar-Lujan was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of DUI and one count of failure to stop at the scene of an accident.
