Babysitter arrested in connection with abuse of 5-month-old
A babysitter was arrested Thursday night in connection with the abuse of a 5-month-old child.
Las Vegas police were called about 5 p.m. to a home in the 5600 block of Souvenir Lane, near Lindell Road and Hacienda Avenue, with a report of child abuse.
SWAT responded to the residence and issued a search warrant. Anthony Casey, 31, of Las Vegas was arrested and taken into custody without incident, police Lt. David Gordon said.
The child was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition with head trauma. By Friday morning, the baby was still critical but stable, Gordon said.
Anthony faces one count of child abuse/neglect with substantial bodily harm and one count of child abuse/neglect.
