Dad accused of killing 3-year-old son says child fell

A father accused of killing his 3-year-old son told detectives the boy fell from a couch.

But the injuries to Khayden Quisano — a skull fracture, bruised lung and lacerated spleen — did not match Jonathan Quisano’s story, Las Vegas police detectives said.

Quisano, 26, was arrested last week and charged with murder by child abuse.

According to his arrest report, Quisano told police that his son, Khayden, had fallen from a couch Thursday evening at their home at 4720 Trimwater Court, near Torrey Pines Drive and Lone Mountain Road.

The boy looked “sort of frozen” after the fall and began vomiting blood. Quisano reported the injury to Christina Rodrigues, and Rodrigues called 911. The relationship between Rodrigues and Quisano wasn’t clear from the report.

Quisano was the only adult in the home when the boy was injured. He could not give a reason for the severity of the injuries, police said.

Doctors also found that Khayden had a previous skull fracture that was still healing, the report said.

Quisano is being held without bail at the Clark County jail.
