Ely inmate died of thyroid cancer, according to coroner

The death of an inmate from Ely State Prison who died in May was ruled natural, the Clark County coroner’s office said Friday.
Ronald Daniels, 47, was taken to University Medical Center March 19, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
He died May 22 of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, a form of thyroid cancer, the coroner’s office said.
Daniels was sentenced from Clark County on July 7 to serve two to eight years for burglary.
