Jury selection starts in gruesome killing of Strip burlesque performer

Jury selection began Monday in the murder trial of a man accused of slaying a Las Vegas Strip performer whose body was dismembered and hidden in concrete-filled tubs.

Jason “Blu” Griffith, who also was a dancer at a separate Strip show, faces one charge of murder in the December 2010 death of his 31-year-old former girlfriend, Debora Flores Narvaez.

Flores Narvaez was initially reported missing after she failed to show up for a performance at the Luxor burlesque show “Fantasy.”

Griffith, 35, was arrested in January 2011 after police found Flores Narvaez’s body in a downtown home.

Attorneys expect to continue the narrowing of the the pool of jurors Tuesday.
