Man arrested in connection with Circus Circus shooting

A 22-year-old man was arrested Thursday for shooting at three Circus Circus security guards who foiled an auto burglary, Las Vegas police said.

Joshua Olvera, 22, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on three recommended counts of attempted murder and burglary with a weapon.

Police said they responded at 3 a.m. to the 3000 block of South Industrial Road where they located the security guards who then helped police locate the Olvera, who had fled on foot.

He was arrested without incident.

Security personnel who interrupted Olvera's burglary attempt inside the resort's parking garage did not return fire, police said. No one was injured in the incident.
