Nevada Policy Research Institute continues fight for teacher email addresses

The Nevada Policy Research Institute is proceeding with its fight to get public records from the Clark County School District.
Last month, District Judge Douglas Smith granted the district’s motion to dismiss the institute’s lawsuit, which sought the release of email addresses issued to teachers.
On Thursday, the institute filed a notice of appeal.
Joseph Becker, director of the institute’s Center for Justice and Constitutional Litigation, released the following statement Thursday:
“Nevada’s Supreme Court has a history of overturning judicial district decisions that errantly attempt to limit Nevada’s Public Records Act. NPRI’s open-records case needs to be the next example of the Supreme Court defending the public-records law by reversing a misguided lower-court decision.”
