Police seize 284 pounds of cocaine

A 52-year-old man was arrested Friday morning for carrying nearly 300 pounds of cocaine inside a tractor-trailer he was driving north on Interstate 15 at Craig Road, police said.

Rahul Grewal was taken into custody after a HIDTA Task Force officer stopped him for a traffic violation and discovered the narcotics.

An officer found 284 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value was $10.9 million, hidden inside the truck, police said.

Grewal was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where he faces charges of trafficking and transporting cocaine with intent to sell.

Officers found the cocaine hidden inside what appeared to be vegetable boxes, bound and wrapped with pictures of Justin Bieber, the pop star, on the front of many of the boxes.

The HIDTA Task Force is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Nevada Highway Patrol, Henderson Police Department and the Mesquite Police Department.
